Mostly, yes. We recommend using our Sizing Guide to determine your best fit. Our sizing can vary slightly between different models, so this tool provides personalized guidance based on your foot measurements.

Our shoes are designed for a wide range of individuals, from those seeking a more natural and comfortable footwear experience to those who prioritize foot health, mobility, and performance. Whether you're into lifting, outdoor activities, or simply looking for everyday comfort, our shoes cater to those who want to embrace a more barefoot-like feel and improve their overall foot function.

No, the Ursus can benefit you just as much outside the gym as it can inside. They offer you more natural movement that can improve muscle engagement, posture & even neural feedback.

Bearfoot shoes can be a great choice for individuals with flat feet. The minimalist design of our shoes encourages natural foot movement and muscle engagement. By not providing excessive arch support, our shoes allow your feet to work and adapt more naturally, which can contribute to strengthening the muscles that support your arches over time.

Our shoes are designed to offer a comfortable and natural fit. We recommend that there's enough space for your toes to wiggle and spread within the toe box and that the width feels snug but not tight. Allow your arches to rest naturally and make sure the heel is comfortably secure without excessive movement. While our sizing recommendations are a starting point, use our "Find My Size" tool on the product page for guidance. Ultimately, the shoes should be comfortable and promote natural movement, without causing significant pain or discomfort.

The main difference lies in their upper materials. The Ursus Suede features a (1mm) Genuine Suede Leather upper, providing a classic and durable look. On the other hand, the Ursus Canvas boasts a (1mm) High-Grade Canvas upper, offering a lighter and more breathable option. Both models share the same EEE width, stack height, drop, and construction.

Unlike many other brands that prioritize flashy styles and rely on cheap plastics from overseas, we embrace simple, timeless designs and craft our shoes from natural, durable materials. Our focus is on functionality, durability, and optimal foot health, catering to hardworking individuals who demand more from their footwear. We stand apart in our commitment to quality, sustainability, and the transformative power of proper biomechanics.

Wearing Bearfoot shoes can help increase muscle engagement, decrease joint and back pain, improve proprioception, lead to better posture and joint alignment, and enhance sensory feedback. To learn more check out our education blog.

No socks, no problem. All of our shoes can be worn with or without socks.

Our shoes are designed with a very small amount of cushioning that strikes a balance between providing comfort and maintaining a natural feel. This cushioning offers a subtle layer of protection while still allowing you to connect with the ground and move naturally.

While we don't currently offer specific work boots designed for hazardous environments like construction sites, our footwear is crafted with durability and quality in mind. Our boots are made to provide comfort and protection for everyday wear, but they do not have features like steel toes or puncture-resistant soles required for certain work conditions.

The lifespan of our shoes can vary based on factors such as usage, care, and individual wear patterns. On average, our shoes can last anywhere from 6 months to 2 years or even longer, depending on how frequently they're worn and the activities they're used for. Regular maintenance, such as cleaning and treating, can also extend their longevity. The lifespan of our Bruin boots is much longer - and can be used for many years.

Bearfoot shoes do not have arch support. We believe that arch support, along with other features commonly found in modern footwear, can hinder the natural movement and function of the feet.

All our footwear is designed with an EEE width, which provides ample room for your feet to spread naturally and comfortably. This wider width accommodates a variety of foot shapes and promotes a more natural and unrestricted fit.

The Bruins are water-resistant, but they aren't fully waterproof. However, we offer a boot wax on our store that can be applied to make them completely waterproof. This wax creates a protective layer that keeps your feet dry even in the wettest conditions.

Our footwear products are skillfully crafted in Guadalajara, Mexico, with US-sourced leather.

We currently offer footwear with an EEE width, which caters to the natural wide shape of feet. However, it's important to note that wearing shoes with a wider fit can actually help feet adapt and become more comfortable over time. The extra room allows the toes to spread naturally, potentially addressing the issue of atrophy caused by years of wearing restrictive footwear.

For those preferring alternative insoles, we suggest placing them directly over the existing ones. There is typically sufficient space within the shoe to comfortably accommodate both sets of insoles.
