The Ursus SHTG2 by Bearfoot is a minimalist barefoot shoe crafted for those who demand both versatility and performance. Perfect for strength training, whether it’s powerlifting, strongman, or CrossFit, it seamlessly transitions from the gym to everyday life as a comfortable, casual shoe thanks to its classic, timeless high-top look. Featuring a flexible, zero-drop sole and a wide toe box, the Ursus allows for natural foot movement, optimal toe splay, and superior ground feel, helping you build strength, stability, and balance whether you’re lifting heavy, tackling dynamic workouts, or just going about your day. Crafted from durable suede leather that molds to your foot over time, this shoe offers minimal cushioning for maximum sensory feedback and is built with an extra-wide width to accommodate all foot shapes. The Gen 2 is built with a slightly thicker, more robust outsole featuring a raised perimeter wall for enhanced durability and to help prevent slipping during dynamic movements. The Gen 2 also offers stitch-down construction, which further increases longevity compared to the cemented soles found in the Gen 1.
Peer-reviewed studies show that consistent use of minimalist footwear is associated with significant improvements in foot strength and intrinsic muscle development compared to conventional shoes.*

When the Ursus Gen 2’s came out last year, I jumped on the canvas high tops right away. Now about a year and a quarter later, I picked up a pair of the suede high tops. Very high quality shoes! I love the fit and feel! The suede high tops do seem to fit maybe a hair narrower than the canvas high tops, but they are still wide enough to allow my feet to do their thing. I love them for everyday life, hiking, rucking, and lifting. Highly recommended!
I bought the Bearfoot Ursus to replace my old wrestling shoes for kettlebell training, and I’m absolutely obsessed. While my wrestling shoes served me well, these are a massive step up.
The quality is top-tier and they look great, but the fit is the real winner. There is a wonderful amount of room for your feet to spread out naturally, yet the shoe stays secure so you never feel like you're "swimming" inside. It provides an incredible training feel and a rock-solid connection to the ground.
If you want a high-quality shoe that actually lets your foot function like a foot, this is it.
Shipping to Germany was also seamless. Delivery was fast, and all customs fees and transit times were calculated exactly at checkout. No unexpected trips to the customs office or hidden costs—just a smooth, hassle-free experience.
Well made !Great fit as described wide toe box for deadlifts , squat , general gym weight lighting for stable lifting. I like to wear them with no Sox. If I do wear Sox I use a thin sock. I switch up to another shoe for cardio.
These are the best fitting and most comfortable shoes I have now! They are also the widest shoes I've ever seen and I really need that after wearing barefoot shoes for a few years. My feet were always too wide for regular shoes and extra wide boots. These shoes also seem to be good quality.
Even better than the first pair I bought 3 years ago. Hands down the best barefoot shoes I've had and I've tried all the major brands. These are well made and affordable. Compared to other brands that are way too expensive and dont hold up nearly as well.
I’ve had about 4 pairs of various shoes from Bearfoot since their launch and have loved them all. I was a little nervous of the extra coverage of these new soles, but I have ended up really appreciating it. These have been the most comfortable and the added sole should really improve the life. I’d always wear a hole into the heels of the other version so I can’t wait to see how they hold up!
Did not expect the wait time of 8+ weeks when I placed the order but these were worth the wait. The overall construction of the shoe is solid. I feel way more foot control and stability during my training. Previously a nobull wearer for 5+ years and won’t be going back.
The conversion chart I saw for US12s said to go 47, I probably should have gone for 46 but the 47s fit nice enough for me not to complain. I wanted a pair of Ursus I could wear if there was rain or standing water and these worked nicely. In the gym the new sole grabs the floor really well and I swear they look a little less like a bearfoot shoe than any of my Ursus gen1s…but that might just be me. Overall I highly recommend.
Very happy with this new version of the shoe. The thicker sole in my opinion makes this a more versatile shoe than the original (which I have several pairs). Since these shoes come in Euro sizing I wasn’t sure what size would match my size 11’s in the original version of this shoe, but the sizing chart on the website is accurate and the Euro size 45 matched perfectly. Quality is also very good. Highly recommend getting a pair!
I have spent a year prepping my feet to go full barefoot show. Zero drop, thin sole and wide toe box. These Bearfoot shoes are fantastic. I work in healthcare so I am on my feet for 12 hours on a hard hospital floor. These shoes feel fantastic. I am never physically tired at the end of shift. I spent a year strengthening my feet and it has paid off. The key is strong feet with great mobility. Bearfoot shoes rock.
Love my Ursus! I like having a minimalist shoe thats a high top. I originally just wanted them for gym shoes but they're so comfortable and look good that once winters over they're gonna be my regular shoes.
True to size, high quality suede, very well made.
I'd recommend them for sure!
These fit my wide feet perfectly. I have never been able to buy a shoe without going up at least one size to compensate for my wide feet, until now! These shoes are amazing and are my every day go-to shoe, from casual wear to working out in the gym. These fit all my needs. Best shoes ever!

They are not very breatheable and make your feet very hot and sweaty.
Other than that I have always loved training in my bearfoots.

I bought a size 48 and 49 to test for sizing really wish the toe on the 49 was bigger, toe is same size as the 48 and I really need the extra toe room I was hoping the 49 had a bigger toe than the 48 maybe this is something I can get done custom thanks yall

We're sorry to hear that the toe room on your Ursus SHTG2 - Smoke in both size 48 and 49 didn't meet your expectations for comfort.
